It is said that the first ancient feng shui practice occurred at approximately six thousand years ago, at some point in the Neolithic era. This is what people suggest when they say Neolithic feng shui. This may be the basis of the archaeologists and historians who insist that feng shui was also practiced in other countries as well.
With reference to the latest discoveries of the explorers it appears that the ancient Chinese are not the sole practitioners of feng shui. Some scientists even believe the possibility that Neolithic feng shui may have been practiced in different parts of the world. Ever since those times the Neolithic feng shui practice was passed down from generation to generation. As it was carried down from generation to generation, the ones who receive the feng shui knowledge acquired new principles and mixed it with their existing beliefs.
There are many evidences that support the speculation that feng shui really has existed ever since the Neolithic era. And one of the most powerful proofs is the gravesite which was found to be built in the Neolithic times. Explorers and researchers alike have uncovered relics that represent the five feng shui elements. And all of these are believed to be placed on purpose.
The gravesite that was uncovered faces the north and in its east lies a dragon symbol and in its west lies a tiger symbol. All of these are very strong implications that the people who designed the grave site are knowledgeable of feng shui and the chi energy flow. This implies that the people from Neolithic times have already gained the knowledge needed to practice Neolithic feng shui.
Another grave site was also found in Henan, an ancient Chinese province. This specific grave was found to have been erected during the Neolithic era and just like the first one it also showed strong evidences of feng shui. This one contained a lot of representations that symbolizes creatures and other feng shui symbols. Besides these, the grave site that was found also possessed the symbols that represent four major palaces and the big dipper constellation sitting on the center.
The arrangement that embodies the four celestial palaces in the Neolithic feng shui grave actually represents the four macro constellations that is each composed by seven constellations. In totality, these twenty eight constellations compose the star formations of the Chinese zodiac.
The four celestial palaces that modern day practitioners use in feng shui have very strong resemblance to the ones that were founding the Neolithic feng shui grave site. This is another vital implication that the people in that time really possessed deep understanding on how the elements worked as if it was the modern feng shui used today.
The four macro constellations that were seen inside the Neolithic grave site in Henan Province, China are the Blue dragon of the east, the Black turtle of the north, the white tiger of the west and the red fire bird that lies in the south.
Ancient Chinese historians say that the four constellations descended upon the earth to form all the land. They also act as the symbols of the feng shui elements that can be used in harmonizing the environment.
